Lecture Details

Next up in our April Lecture Series: a session facilitated by Suni Reyes (writer, comedian, and actor).

This lecture dives into the mechanics of comedic writing, timing, structure, and the rhythm behind what makes something land. Drawing from both storytelling and stand-up traditions, Sunilda (Suni) unpacks how comedic sets are built, how punchlines function as narrative turns, and how humor can reveal deeper truths within a piece. At its core, this session is about tapping into your inner comic—that instinct for observation, perspective, and timing that sharpens your voice and expands your range as a writer.

"Because sometimes, in order for the audience to swallow the truth, they need a little comedy chaser"– Suni Reyes

COMEDY BIO: Suni is a gifted comedian who has performed improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy throughout NYC for the past 15 years. She's been a regular performer at the UCB Theatre, The PIT, Broadway Comedy Club, QED, and many others..
