Fall Semester Overview
Fall programming follows a developmental progression across the semester. Each month emphasizes a different stage of the creative process.
OCTOBER — INVESTIGATE & EXPERIMENT
Writers investigate how and why they create while experimenting with different forms, approaches, and ways of thinking about craft.
NOVEMBER — MEMORY & COMMUNITY
Writers explore where their stories come from and what happens when their work develops in relationship with other writers, artists, and communities.
DECEMBER — COLLABORATE & PRACTICE
Writers move into collaborative and sustained creative practice, building accountability, working with others, and putting their skills into action.
JANUARY — SHARE
The Fall cycle culminates with Wordsmiths Excerpts, giving writers an opportunity to share work developed during the semester with an audience.

*Wordsmiths is The Writer’s Hood’s flagship course and the primary home for the school’s pedagogy throughout the semester.
*Psychoanalysis for Dramatic Writers is The Writer’s Hood’s second flagship course, as the primary class to rewrite full-length works
