Our Virtual Lecture Series continues with Playwright, Marco Antonio Rodriguez! This special lecture is designed to "Ask Marco Anything!"– which means, playwrights come prepared with any burning questions about showbiz and what it means to pursue a career in the world of writing plays. Marco will lead the conversation with his Self-Pitching for Playwrights lesson, followed by a lively Q&A session. 


Bio: Marco Antonio Rodriguez (Playwright) is a Dominican-American, award-winning bilingual writer. MFA-acting/television and screenwriting. Named Top 50 Figure-LatinX and Latin American Theatre by Routledge. Acclaimed plays Ashes of Light and Barceló on the Rocks performed all over the world and published by NoPassport Press (available-Amazon.comlulu.com). The Spanish stage adaptation of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao just celebrated five years Off-Broadway at the Spanish Repertory Theatre. His play, Domino Effect enjoyed an extended Off-Broadway run-The People’s Theatre, NY. Recent Stage Readings: Oscar Wao-Old Globe Theatre-Powers New Voices Festival. Half-hour pilot-Our Friendly Neighbors-short-film format-DominiRican Productions. Marco Antonio is The Movement Theatre Company x The Black List inaugural Playwriting Commission winner. Bloom was Published in TRW x Black List Inaugural Collaboration (available at theatricalrights.com). Screenplay, Suffer the Children-Finalist-Fresh Voices Screenplay & Creative World Awards. The Black List named it one of the top three screenplays of the month! Marco Antonio is a National Hispanic Media Coalition Scriptwriters Program Fellow. New Roots, Space on Ryder Farm and New York Stage and Film residencies. He is Literary Manager and Head of The People’s Theatre Playwrights Unit, NY.
